Iron filings are useful for physics and chemistry experiments, especially for visualising magnetic field lines, demonstrating electromagnetism and showing the behaviour of ferromagnetic materials.
 
In a classic demonstration, a magnet is placed beneath a sheet of paper or clear plate and the iron filings are sprinkled on top. Gentle tapping allows the particles to align with the magnetic field and reveal its pattern.
 
Suitable for education, laboratories and demonstrations with bar magnets, horseshoe magnets, ring magnets and electromagnets. Store in a dry place after use.
