Pot Magnet Ø16 mm with Internal Thread

The pot magnet is a magnet assembly containing a permanent magnet in a steel housing. The housing forms a magnetic circuit and directs flux from the poles towards the contact surface. In direct contact, holding force is typically much greater than that of a bare neodymium magnet. Pot magnets can use various magnetic materials, including Alnico, samarium cobalt and ferrite. This series uses neodymium (NdFeB) inserts for their high strength-to-volume ratio. Nickel-coated for improved surface protection and appearance. The internal thread allows quick mounting to a holder using a screw or threaded rod, with easy relocation when needed. Nominal diameter: Ø16 mm. Nominal pull-off force under ideal conditions: 9,5 kg (95 N).

The specified holding force (pull-off force) is a laboratory value: perpendicular pull-off on thick, flat, clean steel in direct contact. Under real conditions, including shear loads, thin sheet metal, paint or gaps, load capacity may be considerably lower. Typical applications include jigs and assembly aids, temporary attachments, magnetic bases for sensors and stops, signs and labels, and removable holders and brackets. The pot partly protects the insert, but impacts can still damage it. Use moderate tightening force during installation and a washer where necessary. For applications involving heat, check the maximum temperature in the table and avoid direct heat sources.

Warning: not suitable for children. Strong attraction can cause pinching injuries, and impacts may cause chipping. Keep away from electronics and medical devices.
