Neodymium Rod Magnet 6 x 30 mm N48
 
Neodymium (NdFeB) is among the strongest magnetic materials and provides substantial holding force for its size. Compared with ferrite, neodymium provides much greater magnetic attraction. The magnet generally has a protective surface coating. N48 indicates the magnetic grade, commonly ranging from N35 to N52; higher numbers generally indicate greater magnetic attraction. The cylindrical shape is practical: it fits readily into a hole or recess and provides good contact on flat metal surfaces.
 
A good choice where stronger holding force is needed in a size that is still comfortable to handle. (Ø6×30 mm) Holding force depends strongly on the thickness and condition of the metal surface. It is greater on thick steel and weaker on thin sheet metal.
 
Warning: keep away from children. Swallowing magnets can be life-threatening. Seek immediate medical attention if swallowing is suspected. Magnets can snap together quickly and pinch fingers. They are hard but brittle, so do not allow them to collide. Keep them away from bank cards, sensitive electronics and medical devices such as pacemakers.
