Neodymium Disc Magnet 5 x 2 mm N48
A neodymium magnet (NdFeB) is small but very strong. It is made from a special alloy and magnetised in a strong magnetic field during manufacture. It is noticeably stronger than conventional ferrite magnets and generally has a protective coating because the material is prone to corrosion. N48 indicates the magnetic grade; NdFeB grades commonly range from N35 to N52, with higher numbers generally indicating stronger magnets.
A good choice for detailed work such as hobbies, model making and electronics when a small magnet with high strength for its size is needed. Even a small gap caused by thick paint, tape or an uneven surface noticeably reduces holding force. It performs best on solid steel.
Warning: keep away from children. Strong attraction can cause pinching injuries, and the magnet can chip easily. Store magnets with spacers and avoid impacts. Keep them away from medical devices and objects sensitive to magnetic fields, including cards and electronics.
