Neodymium Disc Magnet 14 x 2 mm N48
A neodymium magnet (NdFeB) is small but very strong. It is made from a special alloy and magnetised in a strong magnetic field during manufacture. It is noticeably stronger than conventional ferrite magnets and generally has a protective coating because the material is prone to corrosion. N48 indicates the magnetic grade; a higher number generally means a stronger magnet, with grades commonly ranging from N35 to N52.
At Ø14 × 2 mm, this magnet provides a good hold on metal and is useful at home, in workshops and for a variety of projects. For good results, use a clean metal surface that is as thick as possible. Any gap caused by thick paint or an uneven surface reduces holding force.
Warning: keep out of reach of children. Magnets can snap together suddenly, pinch skin and chip or break on impact. Handle them carefully when bringing them together or separating them. Keep them away from sensitive electronics, cards and medical devices.
