Neodymium Block Magnet 8 x 17 x 40 mm N35
A neodymium magnet (NdFeB) is very strong. It is magnetised in a strong magnetic field during manufacture, providing high magnetic attraction in a compact size. Its magnetic attraction is greater than that of ferrite magnets, and the surface coating helps reduce corrosion. N35 indicates the magnetic grade; NdFeB grades commonly range from N35 to N52, with higher numbers generally indicating stronger magnets. The magnet magnetised along the length: the poles are on the end faces, so the field direction differs from a conventional block magnet and suits some applications better.
The larger size suits demanding tasks including strong attachments, handling and robust projects, with careful handling. Even a small gap caused by paint, tape or clearance noticeably reduces magnetic attraction. It performs best on solid steel.
Warning: not suitable for children. Two magnets can snap together quickly, pinch fingers and crack or chip. Separate them carefully and avoid impacts. Keep them away from bank cards, sensitive electronics and medical devices.
