Neodymium Block Magnet 135 x 5 x 10 mm N48
An NdFeB (neodymium) magnet provides high magnetic attraction for its size, making it useful for technical projects and practical attachments. Its magnetic attraction is greater than that of ferrite magnets, and the surface coating helps reduce corrosion. N48 indicates the magnetic grade, commonly ranging from N35 to N52; higher numbers generally indicate greater magnetic attraction. The magnet magnetised across the width: the poles are on the side faces, so the field direction differs from a conventional block magnet.
The larger design suits demanding applications, including attachments with high magnetic attraction and professional use. Holding force depends strongly on the thickness and condition of the metal surface. It is greater on thick steel than on thin sheet metal.
Warning: not suitable for children. Two magnets can snap together quickly, pinch fingers and crack or chip. Separate them carefully and avoid impacts. Keep them away from bank cards, sensitive electronics and medical devices.
