Magnetic Sheets
Key Facts and Applications
Magnetic sheets are flexible magnetic materials suited to applications where easy shaping, straightforward processing and adhesion over a large area matter more than exceptionally high magnetic force. Available in a variety of sizes and finishes, they are useful for labelling, decoration, advertising and organisation.
-
A major advantage is that magnetic sheets can be easily cut to size. Polymer-bonded magnetic sheets can be cut with scissors or a craft knife, allowing custom shapes, lettering and small magnetic elements to be produced quickly. Adhesion to metal also depends on the size of the cut piece, so consider the full contact area when planning an application.
-
Magnetic sheets are available in several thicknesses to suit different applications. The euromagnet.hu range includes versions from 0.4 mm to 2.0 mm thick, with plain, adhesive-backed and PVC finishes. The manufacturing process produces rolls free from waviness and internal stress, allowing more consistent processing and a better finish over larger areas.
-
Adhesive-backed versions combine a magnetic face with a backing prepared for attachment. Thicknesses between 0.4 and 0.9 mm can be laminated with a double-sided adhesive layer on request, and 3M adhesive is also available. This is useful when the sheet needs to be bonded to a supporting surface while retaining magnetic adhesion on the other side.
-
Magnetic sheets should not be used with stronger magnet types, such as neodymium or ferrite magnets, because these can damage the sheet's magnetic structure. For such applications, ferrous wallpaper is a more suitable receiving surface.
