Neodymium Rod Magnet 6 x 8 mm N48
NdFeB (neodymium) magnets provide high magnetic attraction for their size, making them popular for technical and DIY applications. It is much stronger than conventional ferrite magnets and generally has a protective coating because the material can corrode over time. N48 indicates the magnetic grade, commonly ranging from N35 to N52; higher numbers generally indicate greater magnetic attraction. The cylindrical shape is practical: it fits readily into a hole or recess and provides good contact on flat metal surfaces.
At Ø6×8 mm, this magnet is useful for magnetic catches, DIY, organisation and lighter attachments to steel. (Ø6×8 mm) Holding force depends strongly on the thickness and condition of the metal surface. It is greater on thick steel and weaker on thin sheet metal.
Warning: keep away from children. Swallowing magnets can be life-threatening. Seek immediate medical attention if swallowing is suspected. Magnets can snap together quickly and pinch fingers. They are hard but brittle, so do not allow them to collide. Keep them away from bank cards, sensitive electronics and medical devices.
